What is a vibrator?
Quite simply, if it vibrates then it’s a vibrator! It is a toy for either women or men, with or without a partner, which offers pleasurable sensations to the body through vibrations. Try experimenting with different types; small, medium, large, penis shaped, hooked, bulbous, beaded, nodduled, waterproof...they all offer different variations and sensations. You can also get specific vibrators for anal play which are either flared at the base, or have a long handle, which stops them disappearing up your bum.
What do I do with a vibrator?
Use it wherever it makes you feel good - you don’t have to dive straight into your genital region! Explore and gently massage your whole body with it, you’ll notice that it feels especially good on or around all the erogenous zones (nipples, breasts, clitoris, vagina, perineum, penis, scrotum and anus). If you find the vibes too intense then turn the speed down or try putting a towel or something similar between yourself and the toy – this will soften the vibrations and diffuse them over a wider area too.
How does a vibrator work?
Most vibrators are powered by batteries. The battery control pack is either attached directly to the toy or else it is on a lead. Basic vibrators are operated by twisting the top part of the lid which holds the batteries in place. There is usually a choice of speeds on a rising scale (known as multi-speed), although some just have on or off. More intricate vibrators are controlled via various sliding controls or dials, most of which are fairly self explanatory upon inspection. Some vibrators are also mains operated and may be rechargeable.

Is it safe to put the vibrator in me?
Yes. As long as you keep it clean and maintain safe hygiene standards.. It is perfectly legal, you won’t get electric shocks, you won’t get addicted and it won’t turn you into a pumpkin! For best results use a good quality waterbased lube too. If you are concerned about the use of vibrators during a pregnancy please consult your G.P. or your local health clinic.
What's your best vibrator?
How long is a piece of string? They all have different characteristics with advantages and disadvantages depending on your own personal viewpoint. It really does depend on what functions you want from your toy.
How will I know which one to choose ?
We recommend you start simple! No matter which part of your body you’ve chosen to explore. Never try to force anything – you’ll only end up very sore and put off from trying again! We know it can be overwhelming to begin with, so don’t panic...we are always happy to give you honest, down to earth guidance. That’s what we’re here for!
Is there such a thing as a quiet vibrator ?
Some toys are quieter than others so check out the on display testers for yourselves. A useful tip is too remember not to panic about this too much - by the time you’ve put on some Barry White and snuggled under the duvet, you’ll possibly find that your pleasurable moans and groans are actually louder than most toys!
Are vibrators safe for anal use?
When indulging in anal play we advise you to only use toys with a flared base - it’s much harder to retrieve a fully immersed toy from the rectum than from a vagina. Also use some good quality waterbased lube. Avoid ingredient N-9 in lubes and condoms for anal sex as it can and will irritate. (See Essential Guides to Lubes/Anal Play).
Is a vibrator just a penis substitute?
Vibrators come in all shapes and sizes and are not just penis shaped. Let’s not get too heavy here – vibrators are just toys for adults to play with. They are great fun, they help your body feel fantastic and are a positive addition to your love life – with or without a penis!
How long will my vibrator last?
At Sinsin’s we spend hours submitting every item we sell to a rigorous quality test before it is sold to you, ensuring only fully working items leave our shelves. To get the best from your vibrator in the long run read the following: *Always clean after use (see below) *Maintain well charged batteries and remove them between usage to stop corrosion *Don’t over-twist caps, don’t over-stress buttons/dials and only submerge fully waterproof vibrators in water *Don’t leave latex or silicone items in direct sunlight *Shaking, dropping or laying on your vibrator isn’t a good idea!! *When carrying toys with control boxes/battery packs on a lead always remember to support both the toy and the control box (the wires aren’t strong enough to support the weight of the box with batteries in).
How do i keep my vibrator clean?
Wash thoroughly after each use with mild soapy water (not alcohol) and then rinse with clean water. Do not immerse your toy in water unless it is specifically a waterproof one. Either leave to drip dry or dry using a towel, not tissue or cotton wool. During use you can use a condom over a lot of the toys whilst inserted, you just have to judge for yourself if it is a relevant option. This maintains absolute hygiene, especially if you are sharing the toy with a partner, as you simply change to a fresh condom before swapping.
To Conclude
Please always check the individual features out for yourself first. All our toys are on display with a ‘tester’ so that you can actually see what they do and what they sound like. To test how strong the vibrations are touch your nose with it. If you’re still feeling shy remember that it’s only a toy and as soon as you have one, you can go home and put a smile on your face! We get asked many weird, wonderful and often simple questions everyday so don’t be concerned about any queries you may have! We’re here to help and respect your confidentiality. For those of you who have never had a sextoy before or for those of you who are buying on behalf of a first-timer we suggest that you buy something smallish, cheapish and quietish. You decide on the rest; too big, too loud, too.
